Perched high on a river gorge near Bali's cultural centre, Ubud, Villa Alamanda's graceful
architecture harmonises with its dramatic tropical environment. Inside, elegant teak
furniture is complemented by clean lines, natural colours and local artwork. A sizeable, open-
air lounge and dining terrace overhangs the jungle, creating interaction with the stunning
scenery. This classic Bali villa sleeps up to eight people in four stylish ensuite bedrooms.
Steps from the villa's living area lead down into the garden where the swimming pool and
bale provide the perfect spots for relaxation. The garden is large enough for children to play
and for entertaining.
Surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, Villa Alamanda is located five kilometres from Ubud near the sleepy wood-carvers village of Tengkulak. This traditional village offers a fascinating insight into daily Balinese life including the colourful and hypnotic Hindu ceremonies.
While the villa enjoys a remote and quiet setting it is only a short drive to many of Bali’s
tourist hot spots including the famous Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave), the UNESCO rice fields of
Tegallalang, the Tirta Girtu water temple at Tampak Siring, and the Bali Marine and Safari
What a perfect place to stay while visiting Ubud for our extended family! Lots of room for people to both spread out and be together. The staff and the food was AMAZING!!! Having a driver there to take us to see all the sights and detail life and culture made the trip so much more meaningful. It was great to be so close to the city, but with the feeling of being in a village was very peaceful.
Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. It was a wonderful time!
Staying at Villa Alamanda was the most relaxing, delightful week of my life - would highly recommend for anyone looking to be thoroughly spoiled by the most delightful staff in the most beautiful surroundings you could possibly imagine.
A group of 6 friends after some lovely meals and luxurious surrounds for 50 birthday celebrations found a perfect home in Villa Alamanda. The airport transfer went smoothly from the late Jetstar flight straight to the Villa, where cold towels and drinks were waiting.
A little bit out of town, we could walk to Chedi Club Hotel for drinks or ask for our driver to drop us off or collect us as we went into Ubud for Yoga or shopping. A couple of tiny things, such as perhaps the lighting could be stronger over the mirror in the bathroom were more than offset by the beautiful gardens and pool, the lovely table on the Verandah for meals and the atmospheric music from the local temples. Ely, the villa manager, made sure we could contact each other on What's App and answered any query or request promptly. We have already decided to return next year. A Villa is not a hotel, and we enjoyed the privacy and the dedicated staff.
We stayed at Villa Alamanda and had a wonderful time. From the delicious meals cooked by the villa chef to the gorgeous private swimming pool, every detail was attended to. We would recommend the villa to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a peaceful stay near Ubud.
Amazing time spent at Villa Alamanda with all our family - 6 adults and 2 littles ones aged 5 and 11 mths. Villa was unbelievable, staff consisted of 4 (cooking and house cleaning) who were awesome and attentive to all our needs which made us feel more than special. Meals were out of this world and nothing was too much trouble. We also had a security guard which made us feel very safe. Pool area was well utilised by us all for the entire week we spent there. We walked though the village and were made feel more than welcome by the Balinese locals. Trips into Ubud and other areas was made easy for a small charge with a driver on call.
The town of Ubud is lovely with markets, restaurants and shops plentiful and didn't feel the need to travel much further afield cos all needs were catered for. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested to get in touch with Ely at Elie Havens and organize yourself a much needed break at this gem location.
This charming villa is a 10 minute drive from Ubud, in a working village.. meaning we could soak up all the sounds and atmosphere of the real rural Bali..
The villa itself is very special, with beautifully kept grounds, fabulous homemade cooking and amazing staff..
We were also able to access personal yoga sessions and daily spa treatments and massages..
Did I mention the amazing staff?
Cant wait to return...
The villa was lovely, large bedrooms, great living and outdoor areas and amazing swimming pool, but the real highlight was the staff. The staff simply could not have been better. The best part of our trip to Bali was Ibu Made's cooking. I would return just for the food!
There is one place we have come home recommending and it is Villa Alamanda for family groups of friends with teenagers like us or for groups of friends to relax. Friendly generous staff, fantastic pool for relaxing and swimming. Design that made the most of the location with space to hang out together and space to be alone. No good if you want to walk out to a busy street of shops and restaurants but great to wander round a village and easy to be driven into Ubud and beyond. It was fantastic to have tv space that was out of the way, there but not encouraged. Even a cabinet of books to read. A little bit out of the way but that's a good thing too!
Villa alamanda, sitting on the fringe of Ubud town center, indulged us with the culture and traditions of authentic Bali. Located within the local woodcarvers village of Tengkulak we were provided with bountiful scenery and experienced true Balinese daily life.
The unique, yet ethnic thatched Villa was tastfully laid out. In minimalist tones, decorated tastefully with local art, the compound integrates itself within the beauty of nature.
We were certainly indulged by all of our senses and by the incredible staff. Highly recommend.
In the very rare event of the airport being closed when you are due to arrive, we will endeavour to reschedule your villa booking to a mutually beneficial time.
