Villa Semarapura overlooks a magical sea temple crowning a dramatic outcrop of black volcanic rock on Bali’s south-west coast. Boasting breath-taking ocean views just beyond its vast rolling lawns, this beautifully designed villa features five luxurious bedroom suites, formal living and dining pavilions, a media room and poolside pavilion with sunken bar, and 20-metre swimming pool. The charming staff work hard to deliver a unique and memorable experience, from serving up succulent seafood feasts and mixing exotic cocktails at the bar, to arranging spa treatments in the massage bale and guiding guests on rice-field walks.
Villa Semarapura is located on Cemagi Beach, in full view of the sacred sea temple Pura Gede
Luhur Batungaus rising from a rocky outcrop pounded by waves rolling in from the Indian
Ocean. The beach of black volcanic sand is great for morning jogs and sunset strolls with far-
reaching views towards the Bukit Peninsula, but strong currents render it unsuitable for
swimming. Within walking distance of Villa Semarapura are a handful of other luxury villas
while a 20-minute stroll along the beach will bring you to Nganyi beach where there are a
couple of local warungs (cafés). A few kilometres away is the pretty village of Cemagi, where
guests can experience the traditional Balinese way of life including colourful Hindu
ceremonies. Ten kilometres or so to the south are some of the island’s best surfing beaches
(Echo Beach is renowned for its laid-back surfer vibe), while golf enthusiasts can head north
to the Nirwana Bali Golf Course at Tanah Lot, one of the best golf courses in Asia. The villa's
16-seat minibus and driver are available daily for guests who want to explore the island
(extra charge applies).

We stayed at villa semarapura for our wedding just a few weeks ago, I don't even know where to begin!
Us and our bridal party all had the pleasure of staying in this amazing villa during our stay at Cemagi and we were not disappointed, the staff were so friends and the food was amazing! They were so helpful with every aspect of our stay including arranging travel, last minute food or massages and it was the perfect location for our wedding being just a stones throw away from the magical black sand beach and just minutes from beautiful rice fields.
We couldn't recommend this enough and cannot wait to go back
Thank you so much for everything the memories will last a lifetime
Megan and Jacob xx
We stayed at Semarapura with our 3 young kids some friends and family for 2 weeks in September. What an amazing experience! Eddy & his staff made us feel so welcome. They were amazing with the kids, treating them like their own. The food?! The chefs, Kadek and Eddy, are so talented! Every meal was delicious. The villa itself is beautiful. Very well maintained and clean. We also had our wedding there. It was perfect. To the staff, Surya, Sudhyana, Ayu, G'day, Evie, Kadek & Eddy, thank u so much for making our stay wonderful. We will cherish our time there forever.

Magical Wedding at Semarapura
We stayed 7 days at Semarapura villa in December 2016. One thing that stood out from our stay at the villa is the friendliness of the staffs. We were treated like family and enjoy our interaction with the villa staff. The kitchen staffs are talented. The quality of food prepared is on par with any top restaurants in Bali. Even until today I am still thinking about the freshly squeezed mango juice and the deep fried banana fritter. Or the bbq lobster..I can go on forever.
I must also add that we were there to host my wedding. On top of 9 people that are staying there, there are constant number of people coming in and out of the villa during the week. The staffs were very professional and kind to be treating everyone as if they are guests of the villa.
On the day of the wedding, the villa staffs stood out and shine brightly. They were cooperative and helpful towards the wedding planning crew. They emptied the level 2 living area so that it could be used as a dinner area when the original plan to use the garden as dining area got rained out. They provided food for guests that arrived too early and were hungry. They even cooked dinner for the kids during the wedding.
I am forever grateful for the all the help being lent out to make sure the wedding go smoothly. I have stayed in 5 star villa before in Bellagio, Italy and know the service for such highly regarded places. But the staffs at the villa went far and beyond that. They are genuinely interested that we have a good time at the villa. They even went to pray at the temple so that there is no rain on the wedding day. What more can I say about the good kind hearted of the staff of Semarapura Villa.
The villa itself is perfect. It feels luxurious without being pretentious. The garden where the wedding is held is spotless. The grass is green and with backdrop of the temple and ocean, it was magical. My favorite place is the 2nd floor outdoor living room. It’s a terrific place to wind down. The night breeze and the sound of waves made it a perfect setting to spend with friends and family.
I will in a heartbeat return to Villa Semarapura. All the other tourist attractions in Bali are great, but I find the best time I had during my visit in Bali is in the villa. These are special people. And what a spectacular place.
As a fairly seasoned traveler I am not impressed by much, however, let me say that our recent stay at this wonderful villa was nothing short of magnificent. Staff are fantastic and always on hand and willing to please, very comfortable accommodation and the property is very well maintained.
Our stay at Semarapura was the best of any we have experienced in Bali.
The grounds were incredible and the villa itself was immaculate with beautiful balinese artwork and furniture. The rooms were luxurious as were the bathrooms, linen and every villa also had an incredible outdoor shower which was stunning.
The staff are amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay, the attention to detail was impressive throughout the property.
Not only did it have an outdoor bar/ bale where we could sit and have drinks or do yoga they also had a massage bale and an entertainment room with a pool table that opened right out to the pool area.
It is in a great location, nice and quiet with beautiful views out to the ocean and very close to town if you can ever tear yourself away from this amazing place!
If you are coming to Bali this is the place to stay, whether you are a family with young children or a group of adults it is suited to everyone and has everything you need and more!
From the moment we were greeted at the front of Semarapura we felt nothing but relaxed and catered to.
The grounds, view, staff, linen- everything was to the utmost luxurious standard.
The staff were attentive and kind but never invasive. They were there to help, and they genuinely were more than happy to! They made all the guests feel at ease and we never lifted a finger. The manager-Edi, was so professional and informative, he knew everything there was to know from Bali history to the newest hip bar to try!
Semarapura is a complete treat to the soul. It felt very much like the old Bali. It was quiet, and its own sanctuary.
Absolutely everything was kept immaculate- lawn/gardens, pool, fittings, linen. All 5 star quality and kept in such great condition.
We enjoyed all of the extra facilities. Massage, private yoga class and sensational 5 course seafood buffet. All were the best we have experienced.
I could not fault this Villa at all.
They had everything down to a fine art!! It was a true indulgence and we will be back to experience it every year!
If you are looking to travel to Bali, this is where you need to be!!
We were blessed with the opportunity to stay at Semara Pura recently, and could not fault any aspect of our stay.
From the moment we arrived the staff were beyond reproach.
The grounds of the estate (and it is an estate) were divine, with amazing ocean views from almost all aspects.
It was a bit of a challenge to decide where to relax each day - there are so many beautiful options. The bale overlooking the beach was a favourite, as were the lounges in the downstairs bar.
We dined both in the "formal" dining room, and under the stars beside the pool. Both were amazing, and every meal was 5 star restaurant quality.
The bedrooms - oh my. Very large, very very well equipped, great sofas, super comfy beds. I was in the main bedroom with my own private outside jacuzzi, which was fabulous. Inside was an incredibly oversized bath that easily fits 2 adults lying side by side, as well as an indoor and outdoor shower. So many decisions to make!
Each bedroom offered separate space to its occupants, plenty of privacy and luxury.
There's a great media room downstairs by the pool, with a desk, fabulously massive couch and billiard table. I had a couple of great games of pool with Surya, one of the staff. Don't be fooled, he's a pool shark from way back and plays the role well!
You couldn't possibly be disappointed if you chose to stay here. Everything is perfect.
Honestly, I don't know where to start: The staff were sensational, from Eddie the Manager to Gede the gardener. Everyone was so smiley, friendly and hospitable. We genuinely felt like we had made 13 new friends and leaving them was a sad moment. You really can tell that they genuinely love and are thankful for their job at Semarapura. There was 11 people in our group and they knew all our names within the first few hours of being there. They would use our names correctly each and every time we spoke with them. What a skill!
The villa itself is spectacular! The grounds are immaculate and the rooms all very well maintained and impeccably clean. The staff tell us that it has recently had a renovation and the new owners then went though and replaced all the furniture. So while the buildings themselves are approximately 8 years old, it feels like new. The beds were a highlight for all of us and we found ourselves commenting daily just how good they were. If they sold the pillows, we would have gone home with at least one each. They were that good!
We stayed for just 4 nights and it didn't feel like long enough. There are so many great places to sit and relax, I feel like it would take two weeks to make your way around all the great locations to recline in the various settings. Instead we found ourselves predominantly in the pool and lazing around the bar listening to music on their awesome sound system playing throughout the complex.
A mention needs to be made also of the food. It was excellent Well done Kadek and Eddie (2). There was 4 vegetarians in our group and they were able to modify many great meals to accommodate those guests. I highlight was the Tempeh burgers. Yum!!!
Other things to note: the pool was crystal clean and warm, the air conditioning was nice and cold in all rooms, the beers were kept icy cold, they even kept fresh coconuts in the fridges for us to drink cold, the cocktails they made were delicious and there is no passing traffic; so no scooter or car noises, only crashing waves. We felt so safe that no one in our group locked our rooms, or locked items in the safes (of which there was one in each villa). There was always fresh dry towels each time we swam, they even had a volleyball net which we played a game with the staff once. The massages were also some of the best we have had in Bali and really well priced.
If there was any negative it was only that there were a lot of mosquitos. In reality this is because of the season that we stayed there and so not entirely the villas fault. When we brought it to the staffs attention they did do some fogging but it was a real issue for some of our group who were like magnets for getting bitten.
Despite having stayed in some amazing places in Bali before, we often say that we would not stay twice at the same place because there are so many great places to stay, well Semarapura breaks that mindset for us. We would gladly stay there again despite whatever else opened because it was such a faultless experience.
In the very rare event of the airport being closed when you are due to arrive, we will endeavour to reschedule your villa booking to a mutually beneficial time.
