The second largest town in Bali, Singaraja is an enchanting port town and previously the Dutch colonial capital for the island. As a result, it possesses a degree of Dutch influences and architecture not seen anywhere else on Bali.
Located in the Old Town are the remnants of Bali’s colonial past. Many of the buildings are still intact and it’s not difficult to imagine yourself back when tall ships would have sailed across the sea.
Although an appealing destination for history lovers, Singaraja is also perfectly located for a range of activities. For example, why not lounge in the nearby hot springs or tour the picturesque harbour district?
We would absolutely recommend trekking to the village of Sambangan and seeing the majestic dual Aling Aling waterfalls.
Otherwise, the wider town contains examples of modern-day Bali with contemporary shopping malls, boutiques, and markets - where bargain hunters will be spoilt for choice.
Singaraja is the perfect place to stay if you want to be close enough to the action and excitement of a modern, lively town but still desire the opportunity to get away from it all if the mood takes you.
Our luxury villas are perfect for exploring Singaraja and the surrounding area. To see what we have available, browse the range above.
