We really enjoyed how close this villa was the Main Street of sinyak. Literally minutes walk away from most things.
We also had The house keeping ladies organise scooters to dropped off and picked up, along with washing to be done and a driver one day. They were all very helpful.
We even ate from the little food she’d over the driveway one night ..... it was delicious.
The mozies at night were not ideal, but make sure you use your mozie bets over the beds and it’s much better.
The villa was comfortable, clean and convenient ... everything you could ask for.
Thankyou to Nick and the team, we really enjoyed our stay
Having previously been to Bali and staying in seminyak, my partner and I thought it might have been a nice idea to visit over the Christmas period for a relaxing break after the joys of the Manic Christmas shopping in the U.K... we were not wrong to do so! Once again it was an another amazing trip staying in a beautiful villa with amazing hospitality from Nick and the rest of Bali villa's staff.
Bali villa's are very profesional and helpful they made us feel like home on both trips, I can't fault the villa the staff and also the area! We can't wait to visit again! Thank you all once again!
Villa was in a fantastic location and the staff met us on arrival and were more than helpful during our stay. The villa itself was slightly rundown with the air conditioner in the room next to the pool not working well and had an awful smell when it did work. They were also a little skimpy on towels. However the beautiful open plan living area and pool area was great when travelling as a group. Mosquitos were bad however they supplied lots of mosquito coils and repellent which was great. The staff made us breakfast each day for a small charge and it was delicious. Overall we had an amazing time at Simona!
This villa has 2 rooms in the main area of the villa one upstairs and one downstairs. The rooms were large air conditioned and had their own bathroom and were very clean. The other room was near the pool free standing it also was air conditioned and had its own bathroom and was very clean. The villa is open air for the lounge and kitchen area and can get extremely hot throughout the day. There is only one fan for the whole large area. Mosquitos are an issue as its open air however mosquito coils are supplied and we kept these alight 24hours. Breakfast was not included however we could have organised this at our cost if we wished. The villa is close to shopping and eateries. Kardek our villa lady was helpful and only a phone call away if we needed her.
In a great location, tucked just down the side-street by Kilo Bali, and just a 100m from the primary collection of boutiques, bars, restaurants and coffee shops in Seminyak.
A well thought out, well laid out villa with 3 good sized, en suite, double bedrooms, well separated from each-other so noise is not shared. The staff were there when we arrived, polite, friendly, helpful, and arranged scooters for us on the spot.
A couple of details could improve the place, there are no power sockets in the upper bedroom, possibly one hidden behind some furniture, but nothing by the bed to charge phones and laptops, also a couple of chairs would be nice, since the room is a great size. I'd also put a towel hook by the shower, and some high-ball glasses in the kitchen, but really, this is a great place to hang out.
As the area is well known for the odd mosquito in season, it was great to find ample supplies of repellents and after bite in the lounge and the bedrooms, as well as the nets.
I was traveling with my husband, a 14-year old and 2 x above 60-years olds - so had to pick something that would suit everyone's need. Here are the positives & negatives about the villa:
1) The villa is tucked away from all the noisy street of Seminyak. So a quiet location was ideal after a long day where you want to relax and sleep peacefully.
2) Privacy for all parties because everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom.
3) Great outdoor living space with pool
4) 5-10 minutes walk from the main street of Seminyak, 2 minutes walk from the best coffee in the island and massage places.
5) Free airport transportations AND great services by the 2 ladies staff (Tri and her friend).
6) Mosquito nets are provided in each bedroom which is great!
7) WiFi was great for the teenager...
1) Mosquitoes are busy at work due to the outdoor living space HOWEVER, the mosquitoes repellents are provided. All you have to do is light them up 24/7 and you're fine!Same with bedroom.
2) The street leading to the villa is very dark at night - be extra careful when walking. But we walked the whole time we were there and ever had any problems.
3) Due to the location, taxi drivers are often not familiar with the villa's name. So let them know that you live near Uma Sapna villa and they will know where it is.
4) Pool definitely needs some maintenance.
5) We only received the drinking water on the last day of our stay but we bought some from the shop anyway. Would've saved us a few dollars if the drinking water were sent on the first day.
We were pleased with the central location of the villa. In fact we didn't ride in a taksi once during the five days yet we ventured to Seminyak beach, Square/Village, Laksmana/Oberoi strip and Bintang on Jl Basangkasa. For me it means that Jl Drupadi and its lanes are smack bang in the middle. That's an absolute winning feature. A couple of matters though of which to be mindful:
- animals: there was a cat that nightly entered the villa via the open fretwork at the bottom of the Gang gate so put the kitchen garbage bin in a secure room at night! Of course its not a pet and I saw it on the kitchen bench late at night. It also liked the grass around the pool as a latrine. Mozzies - the living area is open so spray yourselves well (or dont stand or sit still);
- the gate to Gang: from ground level when you swim, you will have an eye level view of the road outside which probably hosts 1000 sepeda motors a day. In early 2016, there was building works going on by day across the road so the noise was audible, especially on cement mixing days. My suggestion is some rattan screening on the fence could prevent any animal entering and the guest's viewshed exiting.
Overall, we rate this property well, having found the airconditioned bedrooms restful, private and quiet (until 8AM). I think is is value for money. Troy from Perth
We have stayed many times in Bali but first time at Villa Simona. We were travelling with 2 16 year old boys, parking for 2 weeks, so our priority was a villa that provided great space to come together as a family but that the boys had there own seperate living area. Villa Simona was spot on in this respect. The pool is larger than the average villa pool - great for games of pool cricket! The boys were over the moon with their areas. One was upstairs and had the hole floor to himself with huge bedroom, beautifully furnished in bali style and really large ensuite. Boy 2 had the bungalow at back of the property, equally as spacious and styled simply and authentically. The wonderful staff were very brave cleaning their rooms every day, and quickly got the hang of kicking them out of bed at 11am to clean their rooms! Breakfast was cooked every day and the consensus was the Nasi Goreng combinations, so that was the staple for 2 weeks with a big fruit platter and juices. The kitchen was well stocked and all conveniences provided. A small bonus was the unlimited filtered water from the water fountain in the kitchen. A great touch as previous stays at other Villas we had to go to the Supermarket every day to stock up on water. The gardener pops in every 2nd day and cleans the pool and gardens so the Villa always looked sparkling! Wi Fi was 100% reliable and very quick. Another bonus with 2 teens!
The main bedroom and huge bathroom looks out on the pool and is super relaxing coupled with the comfy bed.
10 min walk to beach and even shorter to the best rests and cafes in Seminyak. Very quiet street which was a suprise given its great location.
We will definately be back as Villa Simona was great value for money and super friendly staff made it a great all round stay.
What we saw in the photos is what we got! . Excellent spacious bedrooms, comfy lounge area and plenty of bathrooms to suit a large group of 7 adults.. Well cared for by the day staff Ervi and Emmi and the pool was regularly cleaned and yard maintained throughout our stay. Excellent proximity to the shops and restaurents which was great.
Only negatives were that the upstairs bathroom shower curtain needed to go - it was old and broken . We did not need it or use it during our stay. Also I had asked for 3 single beds in one room for my adult sons but a single was added to a room with a double bed which meant two had to share - not ideal.but they coped.
After being greeted by our english speaking driver at the airport, we were escorted to our air-conditioned vehicle and arrived at Vila Simona only a short time later. Having stayed in many villas in and around Seminyak, there is always the anticipation as to whether the the vila lives up to expectations. As we opened the gates, we breathed a sigh of relief to see that the candid shots taken were a direct representation of what we had hoped for. Upon arrival we were greeted by our maid, Ervi and her colleague. She was most helpful throughout our trip with her genuine warmth, jovial attitude and willingness to assist wherever she could. She provided us with fresh towels whenever we needed them and kept the place immaculate. After running through all the features of the property, she left us to begin what was an amazing stay at Villa Simona. The first thing we noticed upon entry was the size of the well maintained pool, and the general cleanliness of the property throughout. Water pressure in the showers was excellent, beds were of good quality, and we felt safe and at home. The accommodation was larger than we had expected, and with three guys, there was plenty of space for misadventures. Equally it would certainly accommodate a decent sized family, with its huge open plan area, where you could comfortably watch the kids swim.
Jarith was our villa manager and was only a moment away if we needed help with anything. He speaks perfect English and he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of spectacular. He really is a gem, and made our holiday seamless. Now let me tell you about location, as I've stayed in other villas where they boast 2 mins walk to Oberoi etc.. This is the real deal, in fact, everything represented is what it says it is. So believe the hype, you will not go wrong with this villa, whether it be a peaceful family stay or a large group of friends. It's an easy walk to eat street, an abundance of massage places and some of the finest restaurants Bali has to offer. If you're looking for value, location, size and quality of accommodation, then Vila Simona will hit the spot.
On a side note, we booked this accommodation through Nick Hyam who is a well reputed property manager in Bali. After having several dealing with Nick now, I can't recommend him highly enough for his honesty, candour, and professionalism. Next time I come to Bali, I will be calling Nick to assist me, as I know he always gets the job done!
Stayed at villa Simona for eight nights at the end of July with my husband, and four grown up children. It was a very relaxing and chilled out villa with loads of space to hang out together by the pool and around the open air living area. Staff were very efficient and management easy to deal with . Whilst I have stayed in other villas in Seminyak that are more luxurious this villa represented good value without the luxurious price tag.The villa is well located to eat street, beach, spa , supermarket. My only suggestion to the owner would be to upgrade the entry to the villa as it let's down the first impression of the property.
Overall very enjoyable time had by all the family.
This bright sunny villa was perfect for our group of adults (mum dad and three adult children). The two main rooms were comfortable with large bathrooms and the requisite mosquito nets. The main living room was tastefully decorated and opened out to a well serviced swimming pool . Great for our family but wouldn't have small children as it wasnt fenced. There was an endless supply of hot and cold filtered drinking water; a necessity for our family and the cleaning staff were lovely and it certainly gave the whole experience a lovely indulgent touch. My only criticism was that more explicit instructions for using television would be great; we hardly watched dvds as couldnt use it! Also needs easier access to plugs in kitchen as tricky unplugging and plugging microwave and toaster if making own breakfast. The third bedroom was obviously a stand alone bungalow or add on whilst very comfortable I wouldnt like a young child sleeping there; felt a bit remote. Overall would definitely recommend this villa and we all had a great holiday
We had a love stay at villa Simona! The villa was beautiful, the pool was great, nice and clean and in the best location! Only a one or two minute walk to oberoi street. We would definatly stay here again!! Thank you so much.
This villa is well positioned for a quiet relaxing holiday yet only a 5 minute walk down a lane to the busy street that offers everything you could need - restaurants, bars, shops, banks, coffee houses.
Once you return to the villa you could be miles away from the town as it is really quiet. You can take a dip in the pool with no one overlooking.
The accommodation is excellent with the bedrooms being very spacious and large bathrooms. The living area is open but you don't feel exposed. Lots of good facilities if you want to stay in for the evening but never any need to cook as every one delivers - even MacDonalds!!
The daily staff are very pleasant and helpful and the pool is looked after daily too.
Yolanda the manager is only a phone call away if you need any help. My son and daughter-in-law stayed with us in the pool house for a few nights and the staff made the room extra special for them - lovely touch.
I would recommend a stay at Villa Simona
