The Villa Layout
The villa comprises two distinct residences, the 4-bedroom Garden Residence and the 3-bedroom Pond Residence, which can be rented jointly or separately. Each residence has its own swimming pool, indoor and outdoor living areas, dining pavilions, and entertainment areas, resting within a gorgeous garden characterised by pathways, fish ponds, lawns and bougainvillea hedges, pergolas and shady trees. A large professional kitchen serves both residences.
The 4-bedroom Garden Residence
The Garden Residence comprises the 3-bedroom ‘Main House’; the self-contained 1-bedroom cottage; a secluded yoga pavilion; an open-sided dining pavilion with a huge table that can seat up to 18 people; and a beautiful 17 x 9 metre swimming pool reminiscent of an ancient Balinese bathing place, complete with a stone deck, and a gazebo furnished with a cushioned daybed, chairs and a table.
Living rooms in the main house include the meet-and-greet reception room and a comfy TV lounge equipped with a 55-inch international-channel TV. Furnished with a daybed and beanbags, this cosy air-conditioned room is also filled with books and games.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor of the main house. The ‘Colourful Suite’ is a twin bedroom, accommodating up to four people using trundle beds that roll out from under the main frames. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The ‘Golden’ bedroom is named after its four-poster king-sized bed, crowned with a decorative gold-painted canopy. The adjoining garden bathroom sits within a private courtyard, completed with a huge sunken bathtub, sheltered by a thatched roof. On the upper floor is the ‘Teak Suite’, the largest and most sumptuous master suite of The Garden Residence comprising a bedroom, a walk-though dressing room and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower (note: no bathtub). The bedroom features teak-panelled walls and ceiling, and a king-sized bed crafted in leather. Doors from both the bedroom and the bathroom lead onto a large terrace with a bar, a dining table, and views across the pool and garden.
Set well away from the main house and surrounded by picturesque ponds filled with lotus and lily flowers, the ‘Cottage’ (aka Gekko Suite) is private and charming. This self-contained single-storey suite has a queen-size bed and a semi-outdoor bathroom.
The 3-bedroom Pond Residence
The 3-bedroom Pond Residence comprises a standalone master suite known as ‘Lucky Eight’; a two-bedroom guesthouse; a 7 x 5-metre swimming pool; a dining pavilion with table for 10; a media room with a 50-inch TV and soundbar speaker system; an upper floor creative space furnished with comfy sofas and a bookcase filled with books; and an underground wine cellar, party room and bar, with a stone vaulted ceiling and soundproofed walls, a pool table, and a powerful sound system through which guests can play their own music. The garden is dominated by a massive lily and lotus pond, complete with bridges, stepping stones, fountains, a waterfall, a massage pavilion, and an island that serves as a tranquil setting for a romantic wedding ceremony.
The eight-sided master bedroom on the ground floor of the octagonal Lucky Eight building is furnished with a king-size four-poster bed. The open-air ensuite bathroom is fitted with a soaking tub surrounded by another lotus pond, and a fabulous shower room is fashioned in the style of a Turkish hammam with a domed roof.
The two bedrooms in the single-storey guesthouse on the far side of the pond are distinguished by colonial-inspired modern architecture. Each bedroom is spacious and light with high ceilings, polished wood floors, contemporary furnishings and a white décor. One room is furnished with a queen bed, while the other is ideal for families with a 3.6-metre-wide four-poster bed offering any configuration of three beds. Each room has a delightful outdoor terrace for relaxing or reading, and a private bathroom with a shower and a large sunken soaking tub. Between the bedrooms is a living area furnished with sofas.
