With a delightful open-sided living pavilion, spacious dining room, air-conditioned media room and a 15m pool set in gorgeous gardens, there’s plenty of living space for socialising as well as private corners for quiet retreat at 4-bedroomed Villa Avalon I. Bedrooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs and DVD players, and a ten-strong staff team (including a competent chef) work discreetly in the background to provide stellar service from morning until night. The villa is just three minutes’ walk from the ocean and 15 minutes from Potato Head in Seminyak.
The Villa Avalon estate is the very last private residence on a small lane that leads to Canggu’s Kayu Putih beach, with its glistening volcanic sand and awesome waves. Only a temple and a small lagoon – over which a rustic timber walkway leads to kilometres of sandy beach – lie between the villa and the ocean. La Laguna, a charming “boho-batik” restaurant and sunset bar, is a hop and skip away; even W Hotel, Potato Head and the famed bars and restaurants of Seminyak are only a 15-minute walk from the villa. A 15-minute amble inland brings you to Canggu Plaza, with its expat-focused supermarket, gelato stop and choice of eateries. Villa Avalon is in an ideal location, right on Seminyak’s doorstep yet with the peace and quiet of a far more rural setting.
Having spent 8 nights in Legian we arrived at Villa Avalon and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Andy and his team are so polite and obliging and could not do enough to make our visit a happy one. Highly recommended.
We, two couples, stayed in Villa Avalon 2 for a week. It's such a lovely relaxing well equipped villa - perfect for 2 couples with separate bedrooms and all living/dining outside. We had yummy in house food 3 of our 6 nights and 3 breakfasts. We gave Andy Indonesian Rupiah $5m (approx $500 NZD) which covered all meals, pre-organised purchase of food/beer, laundry and other bits. We thought this was really reasonable. Andy even arranged the purchase of some mosquito coil holders similar to those that we used at the villa which we all wanted for use back in NZ - 6 of these were included in the IDR5m.
It's a short walk to the beach but it's not a swimming beach - you can walk down the beach to other bars, restaurants and shops to avoid the busy roads. There's a lovely supermarket and a French bakery just down the road where we purchased wine and snacks.
The staff are all amazing - so helpful.
Tip: we didn't hire scooters as we thought the roads were just too busy/crazy. Instead we hired taxis which are super cheap. Get Blue Bird taxis for on-meter fares, otherwise definitely agree the fare in advance. They're easy to flag down or the villa will arrange them for you.
From the moment we walked through the door, we were whisked away to a sacred haven...Villa Avalon is breath-taking. We were there for a family reunion (15 of us!) and the staff attended to our every need. The food was to the highest quality, and the staff were amazing with our kids! Our time there was heavenly - and the staff organized excellent masseuses and yoga teachers for us as well. We also had an elaborate family dinner one night, and the BBQ seafood and the decor was amazing. They did such a great job.
We had a fantastic time - but need to express two critiques: firstly, LV8 is a nearby hotel that did have a very loud party (bass drums going) until early in the morning. The staff kindly let some of us re-locate to some of the quieter villas away for the noise, but we did endure a sleepless night (no fault of the staff, but its a good thing to know).
Secondly, I would have expected for the villa manager to have a list of recommended activities in the area (this is my experience with other villas of this caliber normally). I was struggling to find suitable activities around Bali for a family of 15 - including elderly parents - and the villa manager did lead us astray with inappropriate recommendations (e.g. Uluwatu beaches and temples with too many stairs and tons of crowds). They also have a partnership with a car rental place who have their own agenda, and take you to tourist traps unfortunately. It negatively impacted our holiday.
Definitely stay here - no doubt - but do your own research and organise your own activities (and vehicles). It's the one thing that I'd re-do during my stay.
At present they have 2 Villas and both have 3 bedrooms with an attached swimming pool. The property is secluded and excellent to have privacy. They also serve meals on request. The property is not for physically challenged persons nor old persons as you need to climb down and up again about 50 steps. Massage by the flowing river is a must for everyone. Totally peaceful and excellent view by the natural river. Also the rustic bar on the river is an excellent place to enjoy an evening drink.
Couldn't have been happier, villa was huge for a couple and very comfortable. All furnishings and finishes were to a very high standard and felt more like a luxury home than the typical Bali villa. The staff however were what really set it apart. Example: We asked for a mosquito coil while we were sitting by the pool one evening. The next evening I noticed one had been placed and lit without even asking or seeing the staff.
Very private, no noise from surrounding villas or areas. 1 minute walk to the fabulous La Laguna, and Finns wasn't far away by the beach. If you're so inclined a scooter is recommended as there are some excellent restaurants only a few minutes drive away (try Milk & Madu for breakfast!). Unfortunately there aren't any footpaths in the area so short scooter/taxi rides are common unless you plan on staying in the villa, which would be easy enough to do.
Massive thank you to Andy, Dina and the rest of the team. Highly recommended and worth every cent.
We rented all 7 rooms for a week which worked perfectly for my birthday celebration week. Everyone had enough privacy to either retire to their room or join others in the grounds. The staff were very helpful in organizing a small party for our celebration and I really appreciated the staff staying to serve food and drinks for our party during their own holiday celebration. The location was fantastic being so close to La Laguna and the new Finns surf club which meant that we really didn't need to go into Seminyak even though it was only a 10 minute taxi ride. My only suggestion to the owners would be to maybe put some more lounge type chairs around or near the pool as we often found ourselves trying to find some chairs where we could all hang out relaxing and talking without having to sit at the dining table.
A true sanctuary. We stayed here for 8 nights with another family. The property has 3 pools with 3 villas lots of space for kids to run around and for us to have yoga by the pool each day. Big beautiful bedrooms overlooking landscaped gardens just meters from the beach. The Chef and house staff were amazing and cooked up delicious daily meals we miss now back at home!
They booked day trips for us and organized everything we needed to make our holiday a soul nourishing experience - with small kids in tow.
Thank you Andy we will be back!!

We stayed for 4 nights in a 2BR villa, with our 2 kids (3 and 5) and our helper. Andy and his team of staff were super, always trying to help but at the same time not intrusive when we wanted privacy. The villa is in a quiet street, so no motorbike/traffic noise, and just 3mins walk from the beach. Shops/Restaurants are a short taxi ride away. We've been to Bali many times, and this was one of the best.
In the very rare event of the airport being closed when you are due to arrive, we will endeavour to reschedule your villa booking to a mutually beneficial time.
